Christy ObalekChristy Obalek was born in North Vancouver, BC, and has lived in Canada most of her life—except for the ten years she lived in Australia, travelling with her musical vagabond parents. She has worked as an animal attendant, movie extra, makeup rtist, vocalist, and coffee pusher. When she’s not in her garden studio painting birds or writing poems, she can be found wandering around in the forest. Christy lives with her daughter and their motley crew of rescue birds in Chatham, Ontario, where she volunteers for citizen-science projects like SwiftWatch and the Ontario Breeding Bird Atlas.
