Cliff SlaughterCliff Slaughter, brought up in a Communist Party family in Yorkshire, worked as a coalminer as an alternative to military National Service, before graduating from Cambridge University. He co-authored the classic Coal is Our Life with Norman Dennis an Fernando Henriques, since when has written a number of books on the working-class movement, socialism and Marxist theory.
