MILITARY SERVICE Began his military career by enlisting and serving as a United States Regular Army. After a year in Georgia of to Viet Nam Theater. In layman terms, he was a 'Radio Humper, achieving the rank of Buck Sergeant, E-5. Recommended for Officer Candidate School (OCS), he graduated top of his class in 1976, receiving a commission as a Second Lieutenant. When told he could have any Army career branch he wanted, he stated Infantry'. Oh, you're one of those. Stated the clerk. His career proved no less exceptional. He served as an Infantry Platoon Leader, XO, Company Commander, and the position of Infantry Battalion Commander. His assignments took him to multiple theaters from South East Asia, Viet Nam and Thailand to Japan, Germany, Korea, Saudi Arabia and Desert Shield/Desert Storm. A graduate of the Army War College, he received notoriety as a Global War Planner at the Pentagon. He was once again singled out and promoted to full Colonel. His final Army assignment was as the G-3 / J5 of I Corps at Fort Lewis, Washington. After 27 years of active duty he retired just post the attacks on 9-11. He then continued his service as a Department of the Navy Civilian for four and a half years, on a reaction team working in several Middle Eastern Theaters from the Mediterranean Sea, Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, Indian Ocean, Gulf of Oman and Persian Gulf. GAME DESIGN Today, The Colonel enjoys a bit of often missed family time and weekly board games. But, never having a resting mind, he now uses his tactical and planning expertise designing board and table top games. Zulu, Skirmish, is one of his many game designs.
