Since then, she has taught at universities across the country (UCLA,University of California Santa Barbara, University of New Mexico, Universityof Rhode Island). She is a Political Scientist with an emphasis on urban redevelopment. She likes to think of herself as an activist since she started as an environmental organizer in Los Angeles.
