Cyrille RegisCyrille Regis, MBE, was born in French Guiana in 1958 and moved to England aged five. He was a part-time footballer for Hayes in the Isthmian League and training to be an electrician when, in 1977, West Bromwich Albion paid a £5,000 transfer fee for is services.
