D Allan BromleyDavid Allan Bromley was born in Westmeath, Ontario, Canada on 4 May, 1926. He went to Queen's University and obtained his B.Sc in 1949 followed by his M.Sc. in 1950. From University of Rochester in United States, he received a M.S. and a Ph.D in nuclar physics and became an associate professor of Physics at Yale in 1960. He returned to Yale University after working in public policy, where he held the positions of Sterling Professor of the Sciences and Dean of the Yale Faculty of Engineering from 1994 to 2000.
