Damian WilliamsCaribbean Kids Books was born from my lifelong journey through the islands and a desire to share that cultural richness with young learners. I was born in Jamaica and spent my childhood in Trinidad & Tobago and Grenada-surrounded by the vibrant sight, sounds, and customs of the Caribbean. My mother, originally from St. Lucia, came from a family that traveled across the islands, thanks to my grandfather's work as an agronomist for the FAO. These diverse experiences deeply shaped my perspective, and I've carried them with me ever since. Now, as a father of three young children growing up in North America, I'm passionate about passing this colorful heritage on to them-and to families everywhere. My journey as an author began when I noticed my kids needed resources that blended early literacy skills with authentic Caribbean-themed content. I created The Caribbean Alphabet-Colour and Learn the Caribbean Culture through the Alphabet to introduce essential phonics lessons, vibrant illustrations, coloring pages, and a helpful parent glossary. This interactive approach encourages children to explore letters at their own pace, progressing from large coloring outlines to dotted letters and freehand practice-perfect for developing fine motor skills and confidence. With a background in teaching students from preschool through university, I understand the importance of practical, engaging tools. By weaving in folklore, daily traditions, and memorable elements from multiple Caribbean nations, my books aim to spark a love of reading, inspire curiosity about diverse cultures, and create meaningful family or classroom moments. Parents often tell me they learn just as much as their children, which is exactly the sort of bonding and discovery I hope to foster. At Caribbean Kids Books, we're all about making learning joyful, inclusive, and culturally rich-one page at a time. I'm honored you're here and invite you to join us on this exciting journey toward literacy, heritage appreciation, and family fun! Read More Read Less
