Dan ZhangDan Zhang received his Ph.D. in Robotics and Mechatronics from Laval University, Canada, in June 2000. From 2000 to 2004, Dr. Zhang was appointed as research scientist at Integrated Manufacturing Technologies Institute of National Research Council ofCanada. Currently, he is a professor and Canada Research Chair in Robotics and Automation, with the Faculty of Engineering & Applied Science at University of Ontario Institute of Technology. Dr. Zhang's research interests include robotics and mechatronics; high performance parallel robotic machine development; sustainable/green manufacturing systems; micro/nano manipulation and MEMS devices (sensors), micro mobile robots and control of multi-robot cooperation, intelligent servo control system for the MEMS based high-performance micro-robot; web-based remote manipulation; wearable power assist hip exoskeleton and rescue robot. He has published 150 journal and conference papers, 3 books, 5 book chapters and numerous other technical publications. He is a registered Professional Engineer of Canada, a Fellow of Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering, a Senior Member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, a Senior Member of Society of Manufacturing Engineers, and a member of American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
