Daniel RinconDaniel Rincón is currently the Legal Counsel for the Belgian DEME Group of Companies, a group with a main focus on dredging and land reclamation, marine and civil engineering, environmental services and renewable energy. Prior to joining DEME, Mr Rinón was the regional coordinator for Latin-America on regulatory matters concerning environmental and health & safety issues at Enhesa, Belgium/United States (2009-2012). He spent his early career years as legal advisor at the legal department of Deloitte, Colombia (2006-2009). Daniel obtained his law degree at Universidad del Rosario, Colombia and completed a postgraduate specialization in Corporate Law at the same university, after which he concluded his LLM in Energy and Environmental Law at the University of Leuven. Mr Rincón is the author of two books in the fields of Energy and Environmental Law, as well as of a number of articles on energy efficiency, environmental enforcement in Latin-America, incentives for renewable energies and emerging mining regulations in the region, among others. Daniel carries out external research for the Department of Mining-Energy Law, at the Universidad Externado, Colombia and is visiting lecturer for the Ibero- American Association of Regulatory Studies (ASIER) at the same university and at the Universidad Católica del Norte, Chile.
