David Allen Handy
David Allen Handy, author of McKean's Sunday School Boys Go to War and Theas Few Lines: The Civil War Letters of Private Alonzo D. Bump, was born and raised in Schenectady, New York, where he graduated from Union College with a degre in 19th-century American History. He holds graduate degrees in Divinity from Drew University, Counseling from SUNY Plattsburgh, and Social Work from the School of Social Social Welfare, SUNY Albany.
A retired United Methodist Church minister, David is a psychotherapist in private practice. He maintains the love of history revealed in first-person accounts of those who lived rich lives in the past. David is a father of three and delights in the lives of seven wonderful grandchildren. He thanks his wife, Paula, for all her support during forty-six years of marriage.
