David CruzDavid Cruz, San José, Costa Rica, 1982. He is one of the most prominent poets of the new Central American poetry. He has published four books of poetry. Among his most notable accolades, in 2023 he won the gold medal for his anthology 'Fractal Cinema at the International Latino Books Awards. He has also been awarded the Manuel Acuña International Prize in 2021, was a finalist at the Montreal International Poetry Prize in 2020, and a finalist for the Luis Cardoza y Aragón Prize in 2011. His work has been partially translated into English, French, Japanese, Italian, Portuguese, and French. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Hispanic Studies at the University of Washington in Seattle.
