David Emil HendersonDavid Emil Henderson began his "journey in journalism" with national consumer magazines, writing exclusive interviews with Henry Fonda, Barbra Streisand, Robert Preston, Charlton Heston, and other stars of stage and screen, along with a broad range o news and features. A move to newspapers put him in charge of news and editorial pages of a Time, Inc.-owned chain of Chicago area newspapers that had won state and national first place awards for General Excellence. He took those skills to Montana and swept the state press association's top awards for news, editorials, features, columns, use of photos, and best advertising idea -- all in his first year as editor and publisher. A decade later, he extended his cross-country adventures to California, as marketing vice-president for a San Francisco Bay Area newspaper group jointly held by Gannett, The Tribune Company, Media News Group, and The New York Times. Henderson now owns a company in Northern California and Montana, publishing fiction and nonfiction books and periodicals by himself and other writers. For many decades, Henderson also practiced Architectural Design and construction, creating new and remodeled residential and commercial structures in Illinois, Montana, Wyoming, and California.
