Davide de SantisDavide De Santis was born in Sesto San Giovanni, Milan, on May 30, 1980. After high school, he first enrolled in an acting school and then in a directing one, learning the importance of storytelling and the essential function of the viewer, without wich art could not be shared and would lose its meaning. He studies the body as the only acting tool. He became passionate about gestures, silences, and words. Thus began De Santis's attraction for the different, for the forbidden, for the misfits, for circus atmospheres, for those people at the margins of daily society, for written reflections, notes, drawing sketches, fragments of scenery and color sketches. In the artistic process, where the word often loses its effectiveness, color takes over to fill the gaps of silence. De Santis moved to London for a year, studied film in Rome for two years, and then left for Spain, where he worked at the Alicante Film Studios. Upon his return from Spain, he taught acting, screenwriting, and directing at the Cinecittà Studios, devoting himself to painting, acting, directing, and working on several shows in Roman theaters. Today he lives in Milan, where he has been dedicating himself for years to his latest discovery, photography. For him, photography is a new channel to express his obsessions that often manifest themselves in black and white, curiously in contrast with the bright colors of his works on canvas.
