Dawn HeerenDawn has been teaching and advocating for students with disabilities for over 20 years. Her passion stems from personal experience with having to create ways to help her son communicate. Today, she advocates for teachers and programs as the Vice Presdent of Special Education of her teachers' union and is actively involved at the state level. She enjoys mentoring and helping other teachers hone their craft. Collaboration and giving a voice to the voiceless are her mission. She believes all kids are smart and it is an educator's responsibility to tap into that brilliance.
