Dawn OtwellDAWN OTWELL is an entrepreneur with a background in art and the fashion industry who has long had an interest in the creative aspects of baking.  Growing up, Dawn watched the women of her family cook and bake from memory without the need for recipes,which has inspired a lifelong passion for food innovations.In 2009, Dawn began work at a natural foods cooperative, which proved to be the ideal opportunity to combine her interest in local growers, produce, and spirit of community. In this setting, the idea for her first ever culinary venture was born.  Along with close friends who shared her interest in bringing sustainable, gourmet doughnuts to the Twin Cities, Otwell opened The Donut Cooperative in 2011 as a crowd-funded venture, raising far more money due to local interest than she ever anticipated.
