Deema Alawa

Deema Alawa is a New York born illustrator passionate about non-traditional art and design. Her work draws from her dual Syrian-Danish heritage, contemporary art, and eclectic design. Deema has worked with companies such as The Tempest and astor and Pollux, intersecting her background in art direction with her passion for design and illustration.

Deema first dove into illustration when she was five years old, scribbling stick figures and wild animals onto dog-eared paper. While her art style has progressed since then, she still has difficulty illustrating stick figures.

This is her first book.
