Devesh Misra

Devesh Misra is the Dean of College of Engineering, and a Professor from the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Department of Mechanical, Robotics, and Industrial Engineering, Lawrence Technological University. He earned his metallurgical enineering degree from IIT (BHU) and his PhD from the University of Cambridge. He began his career at India’s Defense Metallurgical Research Laboratory, later holding major academic leadership roles including endowed chair, center director, department chair, and graduate program director at multiple R1 universities. His work spans mentoring students and faculty, building interdisciplinary research programs, fostering global exchanges, leading university–industry partnerships, and engaging alumni and community networks. From 2001–2024 he directed numerous federally and industrially funded R&D projects. He also pioneered project-based education and continues to promote innovative, cross-disciplinary learning. He has published over 1000 peer reviewed articles in journals.
