She is author of seven book of poems, including Canon for Bears and Ponderosa Pines, Entering the Word Temple, Swan Light, and The Winter Life of Shooting Stars. Blackberries in the Dream House, her first novel, won the Chelson Award for Fiction and was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize.
