Don W HillA native of Houston, Donald W. Hill, MD, FACP, graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, in 1978. After completing his medical school training at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston in 1982, Dr. Hill did postgraduate traiing in internal medicine, hematology, and oncology at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque through 1987. At the time he wrote this novella, Dr. Hill had completed over thirty-five years of medical practice that included working in multispecialty clinics, solo practice, and everything in between, including academia and clinical research. A fellow of the American College of Physicians, Dr. Hill is a published scholar and the author of two other recently published works of fiction, including the DNR TRILOGY and the VAMPIRO TRILOGY. Dr. Hill crafted this work of fiction soon after returning to the mainland after working several years in Maui and on the Big Island in Hawaii.Dr. Hill's specific goal was to formulate a plausible historical explanation for what may have happened to the tribe of diminutive warriors, known as the Menehune, who were likely present on the Hawaiian island chain long before the arrival of the Polynesian people from Tahiti who migrated to this tropical paradise about 1,000 years ago.If the author was indeed successful in this endeavor, the reader will be the final arbiter to opine if this lofty goal was achieved.
