Dong JieJie Dong is a professor at Tsinghua University, China. Her research focuses on sociolinguistics and linguistic anthropology, with a particular interest in language globalization, language identity, ethnography, linguistic landscaping, and new media. he did her doctoral and post-doc research with Jan Blommaert between 2006 and 2012. Her publications include Ethnographic Fieldwork (with Jan Blommaert, Multilingual Matters, 2010, 2020), Discourse, identity, and China’s internal migration (Multilingual Matters, 2011), and The Sociolinguistics of Voice in Globalising China (Routledge, 2017). She is the principal investigator of research projects funded by the National Social Science Fund of China, Beijing Social Sciences Fund, and Tsinghua University Foundation of Arts and Humanities.
