Duncan Wheeler

Duncan Wheeler is professor and chair of Spanish studies at the University of Leeds where he is also director of international activities. A published translator, he is a fellow of the Spanish Academy of Stage Arts. He is the author of three monogaphs and over fifty peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. His latest book is Following Franco: Spanish Culture and Politics in Transition (Manchester University Press, 2020). In addition to his academic publications, he regularly receives commissions to write for such media outlets as El País, The London Review of Books, The Guardian, The Times Literary Supplement, The Economist, Jot Down and The Village Voice.
