Over the course of his distinguished medical career, he has served as a surgeon, educator, and clinical leader in both the United States andthe Philippines. He is also a Senior Fellow of the International College of Surgeons and the Society of Philippine Surgeons in America.Dr. Gamboa's academic formation includes degrees in medicine from the Cebu Institute of Medicine and a Master of Arts in Theology from the University of Notre Dame, where he pursued studies in Scripture, Catholic doctrine, and the integration of faith and pastoral practice. His work reflects a lifelong commitment to uniting the best of medical science with a profoundly Catholic understanding of the human person.He is a Knight of Magistral Grace of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, a Knight Commander with Star of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. A native of the Philippines, Dr. Gamboa resides in Northern California with his wife, Lucie-his classmate at the Cebu Institute of Medicine in the 1970s. They are the parents of four children and the grandparents of two, Olivia and Emma.
