Following postdoctoral studies at the Institut Pasteur, Paris, and he Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) in Canberra, Australia, Dr. Cambell joined the faculty of the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology of the School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles in 1964. He has served as a visiting scientist in the Division of Plant Industry at CSIRO; as both a visiting professor in the Department of Genetics and a visiting scholar in the Research School of Biological Sciences at the Australian University; as a visiting professor in the Mathematical Institute at Oxford University, England; and as the Robert Wesson Scholar on Scientific Philosophy and Public Policy at the Hoover Institution of Stanford University.
