Edward Kofi Abban
Dr Edward Kofi Abban started his forensic career in 2010 as the Head of the Police DNA laboratory in Ghana. He has over 13 years of experience as a DNA analyst with specialities spanning DNA profiling and DNA investigations form the crime scene toexpert representations in courts, DNA-based Identification of missing persons and disaster victims. He is also lecturer in biology education at the at the University of Ghana. He earned his PhD in DNA profiling from the University Sains Malaysia and has contributed significantly to scholarship in areas such as forensic DNA database generation for relevant forensic markers and population genetics of Ghanaian and West African populations. His area of interest include population genetics, wildlife genetics and DNA profiling methodologies.
