Elias Vingre
Elias Vingre, also known by the artist name Elias of Venus, is a Latvian writer, musician, artist, and activist whose work is deeply rooted in radical feminist, anti-capitalist, anti-imperialist, animal liberationist, and material transfeminist pespectives. While primarily an essayist exploring these themes through a personal and political lens, Elias's debut fictional novel uniquely channels these ideologies through four distinct characters-Mira, Jax, Kali, and Tommie-each embodying facets of Elias's beliefs and identity.
Mira reflects Elias's radical feminism and passion for occult and esoteric mysteries; Jax represents anarcho-communism and liberation politics; Kali expresses Elias's transsexual identity and radical empathy; and Tommie champions animal liberation and environmental justice. The characters' symbolic colors-purple, red, pink, and green-are woven into the cover art, echoing the themes from Elias's musical project Elias of Venus, where the novel's inspiration first took root after the song "Sick List" was released in the album "Are You Happy Now?"
Beyond writing and music, Elias is an active participant in local political activist movements, a content creator, and a practicing Thelemic Pagan and occultist. Their creative practice spans multiple art forms, all infused with the same commitment to justice, liberation, and transformative expression.
