Elizabeth Robins, Charles Robins' first child with Hannah Crow, was born in Louisville, Kentucky. After experiencing financial troubles, her father eft for Colorado, leaving the children in the care of their mother. When Hannah Crow was committed to an insane asylum, Elizabeth and the other children were taken to live with her grandmother in Zanesville, Ohio, where she received an education. Her grandma would provide her with The Complete Works of William Shakespeare as well as unfailing support in her endeavor to perform in New York City.
