Emma MustEmma Must’s poems have been published widely in magazines, journals and anthologies in the UK and Ireland. Her debut poetry pamphlet, Notes on the Use of the Austrian Scythe (2015), won the Templar Portfolio Award. In 2016, she was named one of the ‘ising Generation’ by Poetry Ireland Review, and in 2018 she received an Arts Council of N I ACES Award. Her poem ‘Toll’ won the Environmental Defenders Prize in 2019. Formerly a full-time campaigner on environment and development issues, she co-founded the protest group Road Alert! in the early 1990s then worked for organisations including ALARM UK, Transport 2000 (now the Campaign for Better Transport) and the World Development Movement.
