Faizal BuxProfessor Faisal Bux, Director of the Institute for Water and Wastewater Technology (IWWT) at DUT, has decades of experience in water and wastewater treatment technology. His research focuses include water and wastewater treatment, biotechnological aplications of microalgae such as biodiesel production, and bioremediation of industrial effluents. Prof. Bux received the 2019-2020 NSTF-Water Research Commission (WRC) Award and the 2018 National Research Foundation (NRF) Award, “Champion of Research Capacity Development and Transformation at South African Higher Education Institutions.” He is or has been an editor for CLEAN Soil Air Water, Environmental Science and Health Part A, Biofuels Research Journal, and Water Science and Technology. He has published approximately 100 scientific papers in leading Science Citation Index (ISI) journals, contributed to 13 book chapters and 10 technical reports (Water Research Commission, South Africa), and has delivered over 120 conference presentations at national and international events.
