Frances Augustus HareFrancis Augustus Hare (1830-1892) was born in the Cape Colony and migrated to Australia during the gold rush. He joined the Victorian Mounted Police in 1854 and rose to the rank of superintendent. Hare is best known for leading the eforts to capture the Kelly Gang, particularly during the siege at Glenrowan, where he sustained injuries.
