Francis P. Barclay

Francis P. Barclay is assistant professor and head (in-charge) in the Department of Media and Communication, School of Communication, Central University of Tamil Nadu, India. He started his career as a copy eitor in a local English newspaper in 2005, just when he completed his post-graduation. Now, he has a wide and varied experience in hardcore journalism, dedicated teaching, and rigorous research publications. In 2008, he was appointed the assistant editor of a national daily newspaper, DNA. Meanwhile, he had also completed MPhil degree. After serving the paper for 5 years, he quit the job to take up a full-time PhD program in Journalism and Mass Communication. Teaching and publications in peer-reviewed journals were part of that research agenda. He joined the Department of Media and Communication of the Central University of Tamil Nadu on June 8, 2016, and served the Central government institution as a permanent faculty member. He has published and contributed chapters to several books, apart from research articles in reputed journals. His research areas include media and politics. He is also the editor-in-chief of Journal of Media and Communication (eISSN: 2581-513X).
