Frank JamisonFrank Jamison was born in West Tennessee near where this story takes place. He is a graduate of Union University and the University of Tennessee. His poetry, essays and children's stories have won numerous prizes. His poems have appeared in such jourals as Nimrod, Fox Cry, Poem, Red Wheel Barrow, Sanskrit, The Tennessee English Journal, Chrysalis Reader, South Carolina Review, Atlanta Review, Iodine, Confluence, Big Muddy and Illuminations. He won the 2004 Robert Burns/Terry Semple Memorial Poetry Prize and the 2005 Libba Moore Gray Poetry Prize. He was nominated for a Pushcart Prize in 2006. The Town Upstairs is his first novel.
