In addition to his nonfiction work, he wrote a number of early science fiction novels, including stories involving planetary travel, space exploration, and speculative scientific discoveries. These narratives combined scientific knowledge with creative vision, contributing to the emergence of American science fiction. His blend of educational rigor and narrative creativity set a precedent for later authors in the genre.
