Gary R. ShapiroDr. Shapiro is Chairman of the Department of Oncology at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and Medical Director of the John Hopkins Program in Geriatric Oncology. He also serves as faculty member of the Breast Cancer Program for the Johns Hopkns Avon Foundation Breast Center. Dr. Shapiro received his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University and his medical degree from George Washington State University. He completed his residency in internal medicine and a hematology fellowship at Northwestern University in Chicago. He completed a medical oncology fellowship with B.J. Kennedy at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Shapiro completed additional postgraduate work in medical ethics at the University of Chicago and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
