Gavin MooneyGavin Mooney is based in Tasmania, Australia. He has worked as a health economist for 40 years and held academic positions in Scotland, Scandinavia, South Africa and Australia. In 2009 he was given an honorary doctorate by the University of Cape Townas 'one of the founding fathers of health economics'. He has published widely with over 20 books to his name. Gavin has also acted as a consultant to the WHO and the OECD. Equity is a key research focus. In recent years he has become particularly interested in the impact of poverty and inequality on health and of neoliberalism on society's power structures and health-care systems.
