A recipient of President's award for teaching (2004) and Central Sahitya Academy Award (2017) for her book of short stories "Itahatira Shilpi". In her stories and endeavor to stretch the possibilities of the short story form can be marked; she constantly explores new themes and shelved deep into its character.
