Ged DuffyBORN IN MANCHESTER INTO an Irish family, a childhood illness led Ged Duffy to discover a lifelong obsession with music and the advent of Punk spurred him on further as the city became the epicentre of the Alternative scene in the UK. Following a seres of dead end jobs he ended up as a stage-hand at The Russell Club in Hulme where Factory Records boss Tony Wilson put on most of the bands associated with post-punk, most notably Joy Division. Ged soon formed his own band, Stockholm Monsters, releasing several singles on Factory before touring Europe with New Order.
