Gemma AielloGemma Aiello was born in Aversa (CE), Italy on 24 October 1964. From the 1989 she is graduated in Geological Sciences at University of Naples Federico II. From the 1993 she is PhD in Sedimentary Geology at the University of Naples Federico II, Departent of Earth Sciences, Faculty of Geological Sciences. She has carried out a two years post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Naples Federico II, a CNR-CEE fellowship and several contracts at the Research Institute Geomare Sud, CNR, Naples, Italy. From the 1998 to the 2001 she was a contract researcher at the aforementioned Institute. From the 2001 she is full time researcher at the National Research Council of Italy, Institute of Marine and Coastal Environment (IAMC), Calata Porta di Massa, Porto di Napoli, 80133, Napoli, Italy. She has a twenty-year experience in the field of marine geology and geophysics, participating in numerous research projects of CNR (CARG, Vector, Centri Regionali di Competenza, etc.). She has carried out didactic activity as tutor of degree and PhD theses and teacher of geology at the University Parthenope of Naples and CNR. She has participated in more than twenty oceanographic cruises, acquiring experience in the acquisition of reflection seismics and Multibeam bathymetry.
