George Washington
George Washington (1732-1799), a Virginia native, was the United State's first president. He served in the French and Indian War and was chosen to be the Continental Army's commander-in-chief during the American Revolution by the Second Coninental Congress. As a Founding Father of the United States, he presided over the convention responsible for the drafting of the Constitution.
