Gerald McLaughlinGerald T. McLaughlin was born on September 16, 1941 in New York City. He earned his BA degree summa cum laude from Fordham College in 1963. He graduated from New York University Law School in 1966 where he was Managing Editor of the Law Reviewand a member of the Order of the Coif. After graduating from law school, he was a legal writing instructor at Boalt Hall (University of California at Berkeley Law School) and then an Associate in the New York office of Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton. In 1991, following teaching stints at the University of Connecticut, Fordham and Brooklyn Law Schools, he became Dean of Loyola Law School in Los Angeles where he currently serves as Dean Emeritus and Professor of Law. He has lectured and written extensively in the field of commercial law with particular emphasis on letters of credit. The Parchment is his first novel. Read More Read Less
