Gerard Coffey
Dr Gerard Coffey, B.A. (UL), LL.B. (NUI), Ph.D. (NUI), Lecturer in LawGerard is a Lecturer in the School of Law, University of Limerick. His specialization is criminal law and related issues pertaining to criminal procedure and the crimina justice process. He graduated from the University of Limerick with a B.A. in Law and European Studies, and subsequently undertook postgraduate studies in the Faculty of Law, National University of Ireland, Galway, where he earned both the LL.B. and Ph.D. in Law degrees. His doctoral thesis examined the common law principle against double jeopardy and the related principle of ne bis in idem in civil law jurisdictions.
