Giuliana Impellizzeri
Giuliana Impellizzeri earned her Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Catania in 2004. She has served as Research Director at the Italian National Research Council (CNR) since 2023 and has worked at CNR's Institute of Microelectronics and Microystems (IMM) since 2004. She leads a research group working on advanced nanomaterials for wastewater treatment. She has experience in atomic layer deposition (ALD), molecular beam epitaxy (MBE), ion implantation, and photocatalytic, structural and electrical properties of semiconductor-based materials. Her research activity is mainly focused on nanostructured photocatalytic semiconductors (e.g. TiO2 and ZnO) for application s in water treatment. She is also expert in micro and nanoelectronics, in particular in electrical activation ad diffusion of dopants in crystalline silicon and germanium.
