Gladys Tywanna SmithGladys "Tywanna" Smith was born in Hazard, Kentucky and presently resides in Knoxville, Tennessee. She is married to Samuel J. Smith Senior. They have four children, Walter Lowery Jr., Gwen Baylock, Ronald Smith, and Donnell Smith. God has blessed thm with eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Tywanna is a Registered Nurse. She has served in various leadership roles at her church, Trinity Seventh Day Adventist Church in Knoxville Tennessee, and currently serves there as Prayer Ministries Leader. She is also President of the Prayer Federation East Tennessee Area. Tywanna earned her Associate's Degree in Nursing from Walter State Community College, Morristown Tennessee. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City Tennessee, majoring in Religion/Religious Studies and with a minor in Psychology.
