Gower LaneLane Gower is a senior at Auburn University majoring in art with a concentration in photography. She will graduate in fall 2016 with a BA in Studio Art. Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, she now calls Auburn, Alabama, her home. Lane has had a numbe of art pieces featured in exhibitions at Fieldwork Projects Gallery in Auburn, and recently had a piece selected for a community-wide Juried Self Portrait Show. Some of her work is available for purchase at Fieldwork Projects as well. Lane has worked as an art gallery intern and as an events photographer and hopes to continue to work in the arts after graduation. She is inspired by the photographic work of Alec Soth and Michael Kenna. Her recent photographic collection, The Landscapes They Left Behind: A Series Remembering the Civilian Conservation Corps' Impact on Alabama State Parks took her all across Alabama to document the work of the CCC in parks that, because of budget cuts, may eventually be closed to the public.
