He is the author of The Mayor of Mard Gras: A Memoir. He holds bachelor degrees in Creative Writing and Journalism from LSU. He attended graduate school for Professional Writing at Southeastern Louisiana University, where he served as Editor-In-Chief of the Gambit Creative Writing Journal for Students.
