Guundie KuchlingArtist and writer Guundie Kuchling was born in Salzburg, Austria. After graduating as Master of Fine Arts in Vienna, she worked as a teacher and artist and ran her own organic farm. Since 1985, Guundie has been a field assistant for her biologist huband Gerald and arrived with him in Australia in 1987. Guundie exhibits her paintings, prints and sculptures, which are represented in Australian and overseas art collections. The original artwork for Squiggle, Diddle, Plop! is hand-coloured linocuts. Guundie takes great care to make sure that her work is scientifically accurate, but it is her passion for the natural world that makes her work so delightful.
