H C McNeile
H. C. McNeile (1888-1937), also known as Sapper, began writing in France when he served in the Royal Engineers during World War I. He is best known for his Bulldog Drummond novels, a series of thrillers he wrote in the 1920s and 1930s. One f the most popular novelists of his time, he is still renowned today for his intelligent storytelling and complex, vibrant characters.
