Henry Highland Garnet
Henry Highland Garnet(December 23, 1815–February 13, 1882) was an African American abolitionist and Presbyterian pastor. Educated at the African Free School, he based his drive for abolitionism in religion and became a prominent member of te movement. In 1865, he became the first African American invited to speak in the U.S. Capitol.
