Hiroko FalkensteinHiroko Falkenstein has been a piano and Japanese language teacher for four decades. She was born and lived in Japan until she married an American and moved to Hawaii, until later making Southern California her permanent residence. When her daughter ad son went off to college, she went back to school and graduated from the University of California Irvine. She was fifty-three. Her life-long dream materialized when she became a Japanese language teacher at the high school from which her family had graduated. In 2004, she published a book in Japan.

About the Illustrator

Johnnie Dominguez is a ballpoint pen artist, hailing from Southern California. From a young age he discovered his desire to draw, which was a method of dealing with a foster care system that he was placed into, and one that he was able to cope with by way of being possessed to draw.
