Hubert AquinHubert Aquin was a novelist, political activist, essayist, filmmaking and editor born in Montreal, Quebec on October 24, 1929. He was active in the Quebec Independentist political party before announcing that he was going "underground" to work for inependence through terrorism. His first novel, Prochain episode, was published in 1965, translated, and later chosen for the CBC Canada reads competition in 2003. On March 15, 1977 Aquin committed suicide.
