Hugo PeixotoHugo Peixoto is an Assistant Researcher at Algoritmi Research Center at University of Minho, Portugal. Previously work as an IT Director at Centro Hospitalar de Entre o Douro e Vouga, and as an IT Specialist at Centro Hospitalar do Tâmega e Sousa (CHS) in Penafiel where he is engaged in the development of several projects in the area of Electronic Medical Processes and Interoperability. Also, he is currently invited assistant professor at University of Minho, Braga, Portugal. Hugo Peixoto holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Minho, Portugal, with a thesis focused on Interoperability Strategies in HealthCare Environment. In addition, he holds a Master´s degree in the field on Medical Informatics, during which he had the opportunity to collaborate with the research team of the Informatics Department of the University of Freiburg, Germany. Since 2009, he is member of the research team of Information Systems Technologies in the Algoritmi Center in the University of Minho. In addition, he holds a position of Invited Auxiliary Professor of Knowledge Extraction and Electronic Health Records of the Biomedical Engineering Course at University of Minho.
